Doctor Who has had some memorable moments, but the most memorable moment has to be when all 13 Doctors came together to save Gallifrey.
*WARNING MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD*
During this scene fans got their first glimpse of Peter Capaldi as The Twelfth Doctor when he made a quick cameo. Given this information we know that The Twelfth Doctor is aware that Gallifrey still exists and knows the location of Gallifrey. It’s easy to just say “Well The Doctor showed up because he was summoned,” but I think that is just a cop out. There are still a lot of unanswered questions, such as
“How did The Twelfth Doctor find Gallifrey? “Was he summoned by The Moment?” “Were the other Doctors aware that Twelve was there when they saved Gallifrey?” “How did Twelve know enough to be there to save Gallifrey?” These questions need to be addressed somehow and that’s why we need to see the scene from The Twelfth Doctor’s perspective.
Ideally I would like to see a season focus on The Twelfth Doctor searching for Gallifrey and eventually finding it. At the end of the season, The Doctor would join the other 12 Doctors to save Gallifrey, but we would see how he got to that point. This would help connect the dots and would bring things full circle. Also it would just be really cool to revisit the scene where all Thirteen Doctors save Gallifrey from “The Day of The Doctor!” I want to see what events led up to The Twelfth Doctor finding and helping to save Gallifrey. I understand this is fan-service, but so are the Doctor Who Anniversary Specials, and those seem to work just fine.
In my scenario, The Twelfth Doctor would complete his calculations to find Gallifrey and would get excited that he finally found Gallifrey. In my scenario, Twelve would jump up and say “I’ve done it! It’s taken me so long, but I’ve finally figured it out!” “Now to see if my calculations are correct!” *The Doctor begins piloting The TARDIS enthusiastically* The TARDIS starts flying and we are then shown the scene from “The Day of The Doctor!”
The War Doctor: Just about ready to do it.
The General: Ready to do what?
The Doctor: We’re going to freeze Gallifrey.
The General: I’m sorry, what?
Ten: Using our TARDISes, we’re gonna freeze Gallifrey in a single moment in time.
The War Doctor: You know like the stasis cubes? A single moment in time held in a parallel pocket universe.
The Doctor: Except we’re going to do it to a whole planet.
Ten: And all the people on it.
The General: What? Even if that were possible, which it isn’t, why would you do such a thing?
The Doctor: Because the alternative is burning.
Ten: And I’ve seen that.
The Doctor: And I never want to see it again.
The General: We’d be lost in another universe. Frozen in a single moment. We’d have nothing.
The Doctor: You would have hope. And right now that is exactly what you don’t have.
The General: It’s delusional! The calculations alone would take hundreds of years.
The Doctor: Oh hundreds and hundreds.
Ten: But don’t worry. I started a very long time ago.
Then we see Twelve fly his TARDIS and say “I’ve got to get moving, the Doctors need me!” *The Twelfth Doctor flies his TARDIS near Gallifrey, and races to join the other Doctors to freeze Gallifrey*
The General: I didn’t know when I was well off. All twelve of them!
Thirteen: No sir. All thirteen!
Boom we see The Twelfth Doctor, but this time it’s a full body shot and we see his angry stare! This would be an extended scene, and the final scene of the season would be The Twelfth Doctor traveling into the pocket universe and reaching Gallifrey as his TARDIS is coming head to head with approaching Dalek ships!
Well That Concludes “Why We Need to See The “All 13 Doctors Scene” from The Twelfth Doctor’s Perspective!”
What say you? Would you like to see the “All 13 Doctors scene” from The Twelfth Doctor’s perspective? Do you think we need to see the scene from Twelve’s perspective? Whatever your thoughts let me know!
